Took my first Mau Tai boxing class with Jamie from Ireland. A real intense dude with a very down to earth approach to his teaching. What I learned from session 1 was how much hip rotation is important. Sound familiar??
Hip/pelvic rotation is key to releasing tension in lower back. With a more relaxed back you can allow for more energy to flow and have more power. I noticed this when I kicked the long heavy bag. There was this pop sound when I was relaxed , feeling great and powerful with the kick. Also, my energy increase leaving me exhilarated.
